Community fundraising that really takes the cake!
With impeccable organizational skills and creativity, supporter Selina Ho hosted a really special event to raise funds for Canadian Feed The Children on August 30, 2014. Funds will be directed to our international programs for children.
The “Alice in Wonderland”-themed tea party was held at one of Vancouver’s top restaurants, Hawksworth. Fifty guests enjoyed an afternoon of delicious food (“eat me”), beverages (“drink me”), conversation, games and donated prizes, including a raffle prize draw for a $200 gift basket courtesy of Vega.

Selina and her event team also rallied sponsorships and donations from other local retailers, including Starbucks Coffee & Tea and DisDaBomb Luxury Bath Experiences to round out the goods on offer. One of the talented event organizers, Linette Ho, contributed original paintings for purchase during the event.
“I have always been a philanthropist,” said Selina. “Prior to this event, I organized a benefit music concert and raised money to support those affected by AIDS. Child poverty is an area that I am passionate about improving and when I came across Canadian Feed The Children, I knew it was a perfect fit. Children have so much potential and it broke my heart to see that some children are held back by financial and/or social constraints. By raising funds, I wanted to play a part in helping some children succeed and achieve everything they want to do in life.”
