Patience is seven-years-old and lives with her mom, dad, and four older siblings in a small village in Uganda.

Her parents earn their living through small-scale farming. Patience attends school daily, where she receives a healthy meal, funded by caring Canadians like you.

Patience loves to sing and to learn new words in English. She plays dodgeball with her friends. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up, so she can help support her family.

But it wasn’t always that way. Before she started receiving meals at school, she missed class often. Her parents struggled to feed their five children enough nutritious food.

Patience had a hard time focusing in class and her health was poor. Like many children in the countries where we work, she faced an uncertain future.
