Goats Matched 2X!
GIVE A GOAT FOR CHRISTMAS
Give a Goat for Christmas and we'll match it!* Help two families change their lives for the better.
*Goat gifts will be matched up to a maximum of $150,000 thanks to the generous support of a group of donors who would like to remain anonymous.
Food
For children who are at risk of malnutrition, the complete protein derived from goats is critical to improving their health. Goats also provide a source of milk and cheese for families, which can be consumed or traded for other food produce.
Training
Goats are distributed through Village Savings and Loans Associations – microfinance programs that teach women effective animal care and breeding techniques as part of overall literacy and numeracy, business and marketing training.
Independence
While gender equality training is an important part of our programs, many women in sub-saharan Africa are still prevented from owning land. Fortunately, goats take up little space so when you give a goat you're giving a mom financial independence and the chance to lift her family out of poverty.
Income
Goats are great at producing other goats; quickly and relatively easily. As a result, one goat quickly becomes the foundation for a growing herd that offers families income for the long-term either by trading up to other livestock such as cows or using the income to start a small business (see Abiriya's story below).
Give a Goat here. We'll source it there
The goat you give for Christmas will be sourced locally, i.e. as close to the recipient as possible. This approach provides an extra boost to local economies while keeping transport costs to a minimum.
Send a Free Card to a Special Somebody
With each goat you give you will be able to select a FREE Mailed, PDF or Ecard to send to a special somebody. Card designs include holiday (pictured), goat-themed, birthday, teacher, wedding plus many more. You can also buy a goat without selecting a card.

Pay & Instantly Receive a Tax Receipt

Meet Abiriya, the smile behind our new Best.Gift.Ever catalogue (pictured above). Despite Abiriya's parents being successful small-scale farmers in Uganda, they were struggling to pay for the school fees for their five children.
When Abiriya's parents received goats, they also received training on breeding and how to care for their health and wellbeing. Breeding and selling the goats dramatically improved their family’s income, allowing the children to go to school.

Goats Save the Day During the Pandemic
Despite Abiriya’s parents inability to sell their produce in the local market because of the pandemic they are managing quite well.
During the pandemic I was able to acquire more land to increase our farming so I can plant more food for our family to eat, and hopefully sell to make up the income. We got the extra money to buy land because I sold one of my goats. Abiriya's mom, Beatrice
Best.Gift.Ever gifts, like goats, can change the lives of children like Abiriya, and provide them with the tools they need to grow and thrive!
